Selling More Than Buying: A PSP Manager’s ICE Take
Barcelona was rainy this year, but ICE, as usual, didn’t disappoint. Our team spent three full-on days at the event – meetings, networking, new contacts – non-stop. We caught up with Daria, our PSP manager, to hear about her highlights, goals, and what really went down.
– Daria, you’ve done plenty of events. How was ICE this year?
ICE is always top-tier. Huge, packed, and honestly, it’s the kind of event you can dedicate your whole time to – it has almost everything you need. Logistics are smooth, the audience is spot-on, and the contacts are gold. Especially if your markets are Europe, LatAm, or Asia. Everyone who matters is there, no scavenger hunts required.
– Did you notice any changes compared to last year?
Yeah, for sure. Asian payments really stepped up this year – new players, new products, new markets. India, other Asian regions – they’re booming. Plus, there were way more payment booths, not just Tier-1 but also Tier-2 and Tier-3, including the CIS. It really shows where the market’s headed. And it’s cool knowing we were one of the first CIS payment providers hitting European events – now more are following. We set the pace.
– How was the booth? The photos looked crazy busy.
Absolutely. The booth pulled in a constant flow – clients, providers, you name it. We were visible all three days. Even on the last day, when most people leave early, we still had meetings in the final minutes. Never seen that level of activity before.
– What were your goals as PSP manager? Did you hit them?
Honestly – this time, we probably sold more than we bought 🙂 But I had plenty to do myself.
My main geos are the CIS. There were loads of solid, concrete talks and requests we could tackle on the spot. I met several new providers and got some straight into work. Next up – chats, tests, and diving deeper.
– And the overall vibe of the conference?
Being the first big event after New Year makes it feel special. Everyone’s refreshed, recharged, and all those December questions finally got sorted here. Perfect timing to kick off new projects.
And it wasn’t just me – the team’s feedback was the same. Everyone was happy with results and the new agreements.
– So, was it worth going?
Absolutely. ICE is all about scale, market insight, and knowing what actually works right now. For a PSP manager in any region, it’s a must-attend.
– And what’s next?
Relax? Not yet 🙂 SiGMA Dubai is just around the corner. No booth this time, but the team will be there – me, Vlad, Natali, and Sergey. For our priority geos, especially CIS and India, Dubai’s going to be even more explosive. If you’re planning to be at SiGMA – hit us up, let’s meet!
