Betatransfer Kassa at SIGMA East Europe: meetings, solutions and a huge polar bear
From September 2 to 4, SIGMA East Europe took place in Budapest, and Betatransfer Kassa was there with its booth. Alex Volk, the company’s CBDO, spoke on the second day of the event in the Payments segment. We caught up with him and Vlad Grigori, BDM of Betatransfer Kassa, to ask how it all went.
– Alex, how did you find SIGMA East Europe and your presentation?

SIGMA was just awesome! Lots of meetings, new partners, old friends, and of course, some really valuable discussions. I spoke on the topic “Trends in Mobile Payments and RTP” and shared how payment systems are shifting from global solutions to more localized ones. Right now, most FTD payments are happening via Open Banking, and RTP is booming in regions like Africa, India, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. This opens up new opportunities for mobile and P2P payments.
– Vlad, what can you say about the results of the exhibition?

SIGMA East Europe was on fire! We didn’t just meet with our existing clients, but also sealed deals to launch new solutions and expand into new geos. Plus, we exchanged contacts with dozens of new potential clients. Champagne was flowing at our booth! The vibe was super relaxed, especially on the second day when everyone was a bit tired but still productive.
– How would you rate the audience? This was the first SIGMA in Budapest, right?

Yes, it was the first SIGMA in Budapest, and we definitely made the right call by attending. The audience was spot on for us. We believed in this event from the start, and we think this won’t be the last East Europe in Hungary. It was small-scale but very focused. And, of course, it had that fun SIGMA vibe. I even got a picture with a giant white bear because, why not?
– What’s next for the team?

Right now, our team is still out in the field at Affiliate World in Budapest. So, no time to relax yet! Our next big event is SBC Lisbon from September 24 to 26. We’ll have another booth there, showcasing even more new stuff, getting more leads, bringing more merch, and creating more content.

We’re convinced that APM, also known as P2P, is going to be the top trend in the coming years. That’s why we’ll keep pushing forward in this niche. No legislative restrictions scare us when we’ve got a bunch of effective solutions under the hood.
